Colchester on the rise...
Colchester is an area on the rise for those looking to buy or sell according to Managing Director of Boydens, David Boyden, speaking following the release of the annual ‘Hot Housing Index’ survey undertaken by location specialist CACI.
The survey, which rates locations across the country on a set of criteria, sees Colchester rising high regionally – beating both Cambridge (86th) and Chelmsford (92nd) based on affordability, employment levels, internet connectivity, school provision, local amenities, access to public transport and crime levels.
Colchester saw a rise of 21 places compared to the 2018 survey and is number 61 in the top 100. Aberdeen is first.
David Boyden commented: “I am pleased to see Colchester not only on the list, but now rising up it which should give both buyers and sellers in the Colchester area confidence. Boydens has certainly seen a busy start to the first half of this financial year despite the political uncertainty we are witnessing right now. We are seeing changes in the town, which has always been well served in terms of its schools for example, but we are now seeing improved transport connections to London as well as new housing coming on stream. It is particularly pleasing to note the town’s performance versus other regional hubs which proves that Colchester has what it takes to continue that upward trend. Buyer and sellers should have confidence that the area they are selling in, or moving into, is an area which is progressing upwards in so many ways, and this is backed by the findings of this survey”
