Business neighbours team up to help
BUSINESS neighbours in Crouch Street, Colchester have got together to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support at a special event on bank holiday Monday (August 25). The King’s Arms pub is hosting a day of live music and a hog-roast to raise money for the charity, while Boydens estate agents has been promoting the event via dozens of its for-sale and sold boards across town. Pub manager, Suzanne Deveney, said: “Macmillan is the Green King chosen charity of the year. We wanted to organise an event which everyone could enjoy whilst raising money and awareness for the fantastic work carried out by Macmillan. The day starts at 1pm and finishes at 9.30pm. During that time we’ll have three local bands playing plus a hog-roast. I’d encourage people to pop in and spend some enjoyable bank holiday time with us.” Natalie Abrahams, Sales Manager at Boydens, added: “When Suzanne mentioned what they were doing, we asked what we could do to help. When she said any publicity for the event would be really helpful, we produced a message advertising the event to be attached to all our for-sale and sold boards. Let’s hope it’s a lovely sunny day and loads of people turn up to support such a worthy cause.” |
