Boydens - Life at Home | Autumn 2022 | Issue 04

boydens.co.uk Business 26 I moved to the Colchester Head Office in 2017. As a Senior Property Consultant, I love helping clients to successfully sell or buy their properties, getting as much pleasure from helping first-time buyers on their first step onto the ladder to those with high-end, bespoke properties. I enjoy the diversity of continuing to be the company’s specialist with the sale of land and commercial properties. There is no doubt that being part of a family firm is a source of pride to me, and makes working life so much more interesting. Dad and I are different characters, but we share the same core values and passion for the business to succeed and it is nice to work alongside him. I enjoy sharing the family history of Boydens with clients; to be able to do it as a member of the family does make it extra special and, I think, demonstrates that we really do care – with us it really is personal. I was particularly proud of my involvement in the rebranding of Boydens in 2016 which was a bold move in helping to modernise the company, and started a process which we continue to this day. We have faced challenges throughout our history – the property market is often used as a barometer of what is happening in the wider economy which has its ups and downs, but the quality of people working within Boydens is exceptional and so gives me great confidence in the future. This was never more prevalent than when we all faced the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic where we pulled together collectively to see us through what was a huge challenge for us, our staff, and indeed the whole world.
